We've crawled all over the web looking for interesting fireworks facts and trivia, and this is what we came up with.

- In Mexico the tall towers decorated with fireworks and built for fiestas are called castillos.
- There is a city named Fireworks in Massachusetts.
- In 1996, a string of firecrackers were lit that lasted 22 hours for the Chinese new year in Hong Kong.
- The group Alabama has a song on their 1985 album, 40 hr week, called "fireworks".
- An aerial shell has 2 fuses. A fuse you light and a second fuse which burns as the shell flies up igniting the burst.
- New Castle, Pennsylvania proclaims to be the "Fireworks capital of America".
- The first fireworks were actually green bamboo that were thrown into fires to scare spirits away in ancient China, called pas chuk.
- It is believed that gunpowder was discovered accidently by a Chinese alchemist who mixed sulfer and salt peter (potassium nitrate)over a fire. Named huo yao (fire chemical)
